Our hearts go out to the many families in Israel who have suffered tragic losses in the past few days as a result of repeated suicide attacks by Palestinians targeted at Israeli civilians, particularly teenagers.  We must recognize that these innocent victims are not the result of random violence but of a clear and calculated effort by certain Palestinian leadership to undermine every effort at Israeli-Palestinian peace.  It is hardly an accident that this major increase in Palestinian violence coincided with the first visit to the region by the newly appointed US Special Envoy, General Anthony Zinni.
