How to make peace with having help in the house

home health aide and seniorIt’s hard asking for help. We cherish our independence and we value our ability to take care of ourselves. Day in and day out we work, cook our own meals, clean the house, do the laundry, and pay the bills — until something changes. Maybe you fell and require short-term help with daily activities. Or perhaps your loved one needs long-term therapy, and you have to hire a driver. Or maybe you’re just slowing down and you need some support a bit more often. more

LIVE helps seniors age in place
Since September 2004, Parsippany residents have directly benefitted from a United Jewish Communities (UJC) of MetroWest NJ-initiated program involving hundreds of households with older adults. Parsippany LIVE (Lifelong Involvement for Vital Elders) was started with a one-year federal grant from the Administration on Aging in 2004, to develop a program that would help older adults “Age in Place” within Parsippany. In 2008, the program was launched in Caldwell as Caldwell LIVE.
