Because of the varied nature of the programs offered to high school students, there are two different ways high school students can use this scholarship money.

For qualified programs of 10 days (minimum) to four weeks (maximum)

  • Apply $250 to qualified programs including:
o educational trip offered by school
o synagogue program to Israel for families or high school students
o mini-programs offered by youth groups
    o leadership seminars in Israel

If you use $250 for a qualified program of 10 days to four weeks, you can apply the remaining funds to another program of more than four weeks.

For qualified programs of at least four weeks

  • Apply $750 to qualified programs including:
o summer programs offered by the Legow Family Israel Program Center
o summer programs to Israel with youth groups
    o a four-week educational seminar in Israel
o Neshama, Solomon Schechter Day School of Essex and Union’s semester in Israel for graduating seniors
o Mifgashim, Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School’s two-month long program in Israel for tenth-grade students

If your synagogue offers scholarship for programs to Israel, UJC MetroWest will match up to $250, for a total of $1,000 from UJC MetroWest.
