JCHC Chaplaincy for Seniors
The Jewish Community Housing Corporation (JCHC) is concerned not only with providing affordable housing for approximately 625 seniors who live in five JCHC facilities in Essex and Morris counties, but assuring that those residents experience the highest quality of life in their golden years as well.
Toward that end, the JCHC is collaborating with the Jewish Chaplaincy Committee of United Jewish Communities of MetroWest NJ to give residents access to religious services, religious programming, and one-on-one pastoral and spiritual counseling. JCHC residents receive these services from a trained, board-certified chaplain who either provides the services himself or coordinates provision of services at the various JCHC properties. Among those services are preparing, conducting and/or coordinating Shabbat and holiday services; leading classes on religious texts, current events, and subjects of contemporary Jewish concern; visiting residents who are ill; and providing pastoral support for other personal matters.
Your contribution of $125,000 will support the work of JCHC Chaplaincy for Seniors for one year. An endowment gift of $2,500,000 will ensure that this program provides services for older adults in MetroWest for generations to come.
