JCF Funding Opportunity: Older Adult Programming for residents in Morris County

Older Adult Programming for residents in Morris County

Seniors who are active physically, emotionally, and cognitively experience slower decline, increased quality of life, and are more likely to age in place than those who are isolated and sedentary. For seniors in Morris County this is a real concern, as they are at approximately 10 years behind those in Essex County when it comes to programs and services designed for their particular needs.

The Jewish Community Housing Corporation (JCHC) and JCC MetroWest are working together to rectify this situation and provide needed services to the elderly in Morris County. Together they intend to (1) develop and implement educational, recreational, cultural, and social programs for seniors and (2) enhance existing enrichment opportunities for Lester residents and their families as well as for other older adults in the county.

In addition to the residents of Lester Housing, the JCC currently serves 600 older adults in Morris County. Your endowment gift of $1,500,000 will enable them to partner with the JCHC to expand their client base and establish new programs and services, including transportation, opportunity for socialization, nutrition and health related counseling, and other quality of life opportunities.
