About our Honorees

2007 United Jewish Communities of MetroWest NJSteven Glass is a successful graduate of the Arthur Borinsky Young Leadership Development Program and used that as a springboard to greater involvement in the MetroWest Jewish community.
After learning about Jewish Family Service of MetroWest during a Borinsky session, Steven wanted to know more about the agency and his conversations ultimately led to direct involvement with JFS, where he serves on their board of trustees. Steven also served as a chair of the Arthur Borinsky Young Leadership Development Program to provide this same opportunity to other up-and-coming leaders.
Those close to Steven call him a role model for his peers, inspiring others through is actions and personal commitment.

Daniel Ramer first became involved with UJC in 1995 for social reasons. After attending one Young Leadership Division event, he was inspired to learn more about what UJC does for the community and Jews worldwide, thus beginning his involvement with the organization.
Dan believes in continuity as a cornerstone of the community. This point was driven home during a 2001 visit with UJC to Cherkassy, Ukraine, where he saw how UJC MetroWest funds and support positively affect the lives of this elderly, impoverished Jewish community. His personal commitment to continuity is clearly demonstrated through his efforts that helped reinvigorate the Arthur Borinsky Young Leadership Development Program as an entry point to involvement in the community, for which he served as chair for two years.
Dan continues to lead by example and increase his leadership and visibility in the community. Dan recently completed his first of two years as a chair for Super Sunday and also chaired the highly successful Sports Nite Out event featuring Tiki Barber.
He is also a member of the Young Leadership Council, the UJC MetroWest Board of Trustees, and is a vice president on the Jewish Vocational Services of MetroWest Board of Trustees, where he also serves as the endowment chair.
Dan lives in Maplewood with his wife, Alia, and their three children, Talia, Avi, and Oren.
