Do You Know …
UJC's Services for People with Special Needs and their Families

When you have a family member with special needs,
it is often difficult to know where to start to get the services you need. In the MetroWest community, services are catalogued in a guide for people with developmental, learning and physical disabilities
as well as those with mental illness.
The guide will help families seeking:

  • Home visits to a child with special needs from a trained teenage “big brother or sister”
  • A typical summer or school vacation Jewish day camp experience, aided by a shadow counselor
  • A range of vocational training and support for people with a desire to achieve a measure of financial independence
  • Supervised Kosher group homes and apartments for adults with a range of special needs
  • Special Jewish formal and experiential education for all ages
  • Social and recreational programs for all ages and art classes, meditation, yoga and other arts and enrichment classes for adults
  • Individual counseling and case management for individuals and families
Our community is committed to assisting people with special needs so that they can enjoy participation in Jewish life. For more information, call any one of the UJC Partner Agencies or call the at (973) 929-3100.
