This year, we are celebrating the 60th anniversary of the State of Israel. Jews are flourishing in our homeland and around the world. It's quite a difference from where we were just before the creation of Israel. That was the time of the Holocaust, of World War II, of Adolph Hitler and Nazi Germany.
The answer to the destruction of the past is to build the future, and the future is in your hands.
Building a strong Jewish community is how we guarantee our survival. It is how we say, "Never again."
You and UJC strengthen the Jewish community of today by supporting those who depend on us for help: the elderly and the unemployed, those with disabilities, families in distress, and more. You and UJC help build the Jewish community of tomorrow by supporting Israeli immigrants, Jewish education, the development of young Jewish leaders, and so much more.
It can happen again.
In fact, it is happening again. In France, anti-Semitic incidents are increasing. There have been hundreds in just the past year.
