From New York City

  • George Washington Bridge to Interstate Route 80 West.
  • Go to exit 52 (Fairfield, Lincoln Park, The Caldwells). At ramp, be careful, it is tricky, stay to the right and then make a quick right, so that you are traveling south on Two Bridges Road, which becomes Passaic Avenue after passing over Route 46.
  • Go straight, for about 3.3 miles and make a left onto Bloomfield Avenue. This intersection has a Capitol One Bank and a Shell Station on the corner.
  • Proceed up hill for three traffic lights and just past the third light, make a right turn, looping around the Caldwell Gas Stop onto Academy Road.
  • Make a quick left turn onto Elizabeth then a quick right into the parking lot of the synagogue.

From Parkway South

  • Take Parkway to Exit 156: Route 80 West/Saddle Brook. Follow directions above.

From Parkway North

  • Take Parkway to Exit 145: Route 280 West
  • Take Route 280 West to Exit 5B: Caldwell. Exit puts you onto Livingston Avenue. Continue to end.
  • Make right turn onto Eagle Rock Avenue.
  • Make first left onto Roseland Avenue. Continue to end.
  • Turn left onto Bloomfield Avenue. Just before third traffic light, turn left just before Caldwell Gas Station and then right onto Academy Road.
  • The Synagoue is 1/2 block down Academy Road, on the left. The entrance is on Elizabeth Street, the first street on the left, for early arrivals, drop-off or handicapped parking.

Please park per the instructions below.

Parking

There is limited parking at Congregation Agudath Israel. Several on-site spaces will be set aside for those requiring special accommodations, and drop-off is available.

The Grover Cleveland Middle School at 36 Academy Road has some available parking, and in general, you may park in the neighborhood and on Bloomfield Avenue.  There are several local municipal lots in the area. Only those spaces with white striping are available (hourly parking – the others are for permit parking). Please note that “no parking zones” are strictly enforced. In addition, Congregation Agudath Israel has requested that our patrons be considerate of the neighbors.

We recommend that you leave additional time for parking. Carpooling is encouraged.
