Damage caused by rocket attacks within 24 hours

These are pictures of homes photographed by Jewish Agency field workers on Tuesday, December 30 following rocket attacks that occurred on December 29 and 30. (The time each house was hit is indicated.) Following the inspection, families are given immediate financial assistance through from the Jewish Agency’s Fund for Victims of Terror, which is supported by the UJC/Federations.

The home of Miriam Ezra, 72, suffered a direct hit to the living room. Ezra’s son, Shlomi, felt it was too dangerous for his mother, who is wheelchair-bound, to stay at home and he took her out the city at 10 a.m. Monday – seven hours before the Kassam rocket hit. In the inset, Ezra’s wheelchair can be seen.

Motti Buganim, who has lived his entire life in Sderot, stands outside his house, which was hit by a Kassam. He and his wife and child took cover in the sheltered room in the house when the rocket hit.

The home of the Kimchi family in Ofakim, located 40 kilometers (25 miles) from the Gaza Strip, was hit by an Iranian-made Katyusha rocket. The family was at home at the time, but no one was injured.

Avi Maman (center), a firefighter, returned home from his shift before a Kassam rocket hit his house. No one was injured.
