I was greatly saddened to learn of Gary Tobin's passing this week. I have known him as a friend and colleague for over 25 years. He was the chief researcher and author of the MetroWest 1986 Demographic Study and did follow-up studies related to philanthropy and social services.  >>MORE>>

We saw a remarkable program in Ramle called Net@. Aimed at youth at risk in 23 communities in the physical and social periphery of Israel, it is a three-year course in computer science, English, and leadership. Net@ Ramle is special because Jewish kids, Muslim Arab kids, and Christian Arab kids come together to learn with and from each other.  >>MORE>>
