Clinton: Only talks will result in a state


Washington (JTA) — Hillary Rodham Clinton told a Palestinian-American audience that the only path to statehood is through direct talks with Israel. The U.S. secretary of state's remarks Wednesday to a gala dinner of the American Task Force on Palestine comes as the Palestinian Authority reportedly is seeking international recognition in case it decides to unilaterally declare statehood. more

Ex-spy Valerie Plame shares lessons from her ‘outing’

Just days before a film about her debuts in movie theaters, “outed” CIA operative Valerie Plame Wilson told her spy story to women donors to United Jewish Communities of MetroWest NJ. Wilson was the keynote speaker at the CHOICES Redux dinner, sponsored by UJC MetroWest’s Women’s Philanthropy. Over 400 women supporters of the UJA Campaign came to the Nov. 1 dinner at the Crystal Plaza in Livingston. more

Super Sunday 2010 Hundreds of members of the MetroWest Community came to the Alex Aidekman Family Jewish Community Campus for an exciting day of community activities.

I wrote about her last in the context of Shavuot and the story of Ruth and Naomi. I was so lucky to have Ethel as my mother-in-law — she was an inspiration to me as a Jewish woman leader, and as a Jewish woman, period.   more

I was recently stuck in Europe under a volcano cloud with millions of people and my own older parents. The closed sky caught us in Hungary with all its painful Jewish history, a week after their national elections in which a far right party won much power, a few days after Yom Hashoa (Holocaust remembrance day) and symbolically during Yom Hazikaron and Yom Ha’atzmaut (Israeli memorial and independence days).   more

February is Jewish Disability Awareness month.  Over the past decade, Federations have seen an increased need for services for people with autism spectrum disorders and their families. In response, The Jewish Federations of North America is developing a comprehensive Web site on autism spectrum for adults ages 18-26. The site, which will be available over the summer, will include educational materials, information on housing and social programs, and more. Please contact  for details.
