by Amir Shacham, UJC MetroWest Director of Israel Operations Ike I chose to summarize the first decade of the new millennium with a tiny news report that appeared a few days ago on page 27 of my morning newspaper. It said “Yitzhak (Ike) Aharonovitz passed away at the age of 86.” For many, in Israel and abroad, this headline did not mean anything; for some perhaps it would ring a vague bell, but for me, these three letters, the name “Ike”, that is folded into it, symbolizes the entire Zionist history. >>MORE>>
