What is Mitzvot of MetroWest?

Mitzvot of MetroWest is The Partnership's annual Mitzvah Project program for B'nai Mitzvah students. For over ten years, synagogues, day schools and organizations have gathered together to match students with mitzvah opportunities. Registration is done through synagogue religious schools, local day schools and individual families are invited to participate as well. Participants will have the opportunity to meet representatives from over 25 organizations and learns how to get involved in a variety of hands-on projects. Incorporating acts of kindness is an important component of the Bar/Bat Mitzvah celebration. Over 1,000 students, parents and teachers will gather for this year's event on January 31, 2010.

Epstein Mission - March 2009Tikku NOLAm – Shalom from New Orleans
By Brandon Minde

If you’re going to put the concept of tikkun olam (repairing the world) into action, there aren’t too many better places to start than New Orleans. Over a three day period, from March 15-17, 2009, nine of us from Metrowest joined over 600 young Jewish leaders, descending on the Big Easy to do just that for this year’s UJC National Young Leadership conference. more
