The "Kid" Remembers Marty Rakitt

"Hey kid, why don't you join us for lunch?" asked Marty Rakitt, MetroWest director of our Jewish Community Foundation. He had a great sense of humor and was a master raconteur. This was honed by his World War II experience as a comedian and bass fiddler. His anecdotes over lunch were humorous because they told much about our yearnings and foibles.  >>MORE>>

They don't know it, but the first authentic New Jersey living room that I saw on TV belonged to Stephen and Rosalyn Flatow of West Orange. New Jersey Monthly Magazine Accepting Nominations

New Jersey Monthly is looking for the people who make a difference, from fundraisers to in-the-trenches volunteers. A panel of judges will choose the winners of the annual Seeds of Hope Award. Nominees must be NJ residents who work with NJ-based charities or NJ chapters of national organizations. Nominations can be submitted via njmonthly.com/seedsnomination.
