New videos in the Waldor Memorial Library

As part of the Israel Education Month, the Waldor Memorial Library received seven new videos, produced by the World Zionist Organization, Department of Zionist Activities. Each one of these videos presents a unique view of Israeli society. Most of these videos are geared to high school students and to adults.

• On the Front Line. A group of young people, some religious and others secular, decide to postpone their military service and spend a year living in the Gilo section of Jerusalem, in order to promote better understanding of the religious and secular communities of Israel.

• Longing for Tomorrow. Examines the hopes and fears of new immigrants – Olim – arriving in Israel.

• Raging Dove. The story of the welterweight world champion in boxing, Johar Abu Lashin. Will he become the hero boxer of both Israelis and Palestinians?

• Le Grand Akshan. The story of Grish Starosta who was a pioneer in 1925 and returned to Rumania upon the birth of his son, but his dream of living in the Land of Israel endured.

• Sea. The End. Focuses on the irreparable damage to the coral reef in the Bay of Eilat.

• Valley of Dreams. The story of Imka Halperin and her eight children, who must make renewed effort to go on with their life after the suicide of their father.

• One of the Lamed-Vav. Realities and memories mingle in this fascinating story of Rabbi Arye Levin (1885-1969) a saintly man of immense intellectual capacity and view that every human being, regardless of religious inclinations, may achieve spiritual fulfillment. This is also the story of his two grandsons Lt. Col. (res.) David Levin and Rabbi Binyamin Levene, a noted educator.
