Maturity Works is a comprehensive vocational and support program which provides assistance to the rapidly increasing number of individuals 45 and older in the MetroWest community who have been displaced from their jobs as a result of the downward economy and the restructuring of many businesses.
In addition to providing career counseling, job search assistance and placement services, Maturity Works' professional staff seeks to educate employers about the advantages of hiring mature workers, thus creating greater job opportunities. Through the Jewish Employment Network (JEN), consisting of 38 MetroWest synagogues, JVS links job seekers and potential employers from the synagogue communities. Maturity Works is funded by a grant from the Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey.
Through additional funding from the Karma Foundation and the Junior League of the Oranges and Short Hills, JVS offers computer training to give mature workers the opportunity to gain or upgrade their computer skills required in today's technologically based workplace.
