1951 -- First Nahal Settlement Founded
The first Nahal - "Fighting Pioneer Youth Corps"- settlement was founded at the Gaza Strip border. It was later named Kibbutz Nahal Oz.

1994 -- Jordan and Israel End Period of Hostility
President Clinton, Prime Minister Rabin, and King Hussein of Jordan attended a summit meeting at the White House in Washington. The state of belligerency between Israel and Jordan was ended when the two leaders signed a non-belligerency agreement, known as the Washington Agreement.
