The desire to love and nurture a child can be very powerful. Likewise, the impact of infertility can be just as powerful. For many couples, the promising process of adoption becomes the pragmatic means to fulfilling their heartfelt aches and dreams.
JFS Adoption Services can give couples the information they want and the support they may need throughout the adoption journey. Our licensed professionals are warm and sensitive to the range of needs and concerns unique to adoption.
JFS is licensed by the State of New Jersey in state-mandated home study evaluations and post-placement supervision, both of which are required for all adoptions. The home study is an open, honest, interactive, and educational process by which applicants have an opportunity to prepare themselves for parenthood. The necessary documents are then obtained to complete the study. JFS conducts home studies for both domestic and international adoptions, having worked with placing agencies for countries including Russia, China, Vietnam, Romania, and Guatemala.
The home study process generally requires a minimum of two to three months, during which JFS conducts at least three in-person interviews and a home visit. After the child is placed with the couple, JFS then provides the state-mandated post-placement supervision and assistance for the new family.
That's not all. JFS is still there, offering information workshops, birthparents' services, support groups for adopting families, and professional services for adopted children.
From the journey's beginning to time beyond, families can count on JFS Adoption professionals to offer compassionate, caring, and professional support. For more information about JFS Adoption Services, please call 973/765-9050.
