MGI program
conditions and regulations

In order to ensure the safety and well being of our participants, our programs adhere to the following regulations of JCC Maccabi Xperience:

  1. General code of behavior: Please remember that as representatives of the JCC Maccabi Xperience Israel Programs, participants are expected to behave in an appropriate manner at all times. Participants should not fight, steal or engage in other kinds of anti-social or disruptive behavior. Participants will be held responsible for the cost of any property damage they cause.
  2. Illegal Drugs: The purchase, use or sale of drugs is illegal in Israel. In addition to possibly serious personal or legal consequences, purchase or use of illicit drugs will result in immediate expulsion from the program without refund.
  3. Alcoholic Beverages: Participants in JCC Maccabi Xperience high school programs are not permitted to consume alcoholic beverages at any time; violation will result in expulsion from the program without refund.
  4. Cigarette Smoking: Participants in JCC Maccabi Xperience high school programs who wish to be permitted to smoke cigarettes must submit written parental permission by 1 May, in which case smoking will be permitted during times other than organized activities, program sessions or group travel, and outside hostel or hotel rooms.
  5. Piercing and Tattoos: Participants in JCC Maccabi Xperience Israel Programs who wish to engage in ear or body piercing, or to get a tattoo during the trip must submit written parental permission by May 1st.
  6. Social behavior: Participants in JCC Maccabi Xperience Israel Programs shall appear in the presence of members of the opposite sex clothed in full street attire (or swimming attire when appropriate); they shall not be permitted in the rooms or living areas of members of the opposite sex, except in circumstances approved by staff.
  7. The program is a group experience. Participants are expected to adhere to the itinerary and activities of the group.
  8. In light of the climate in Israel, participants should be prepared to wear hats and drink more liquids than may be necessary in their home environments. Wearing tank tops while hiking is not allowed.
  9. The JCC Maccabi Xperience Israel Programs do not use public transportation for group activities. All transportation is arranged through private chartered bus service. (On an individual basis, participants might take public transportation to visit a doctor or relative or to run personal errands, in which cases they will always be accompanied by a chaperone.)
  10. Kashrut: All of the food provided on the trip will be kosher. During free time, when purchasing food individually, participants may make their own choices about food selection.
