Passport to Israel (PTI) helps provide students with the necessary funds to enjoy an unforgettable Israel experience. PTI is a partnership among Jewish families, their synagogues, and United Jewish Communities (UJC) of MetroWest NJ, administered by the Legow Family Israel Program Center.
PTI funds will cover a major portion of the cost of an Israel program. The goal of PTI is to reinforce our children's connection to the land of Israel through an Israel trip with their peers.
We suggest you contribute to your account every year. We will send out a reminder around Hanukkah. In addition, we encourage you to ask your friends and family to contribute to your child's PTI account in lieu of (or in addition to) birthday, b'nai mitzvah, and other gifts. Participants may withdraw from the PTI program at any time.
For additional information, contact the Legow Family Israel Program Center at or 973/929-3054.
UJC will match up to $750 when the student is ready to use the PTI money to participate in an Israel experience during the high school years. The matching funds from UJC are available for trips taken between the end of ninth grade and the summer following the student's senior year in high school. Even students who have taken individual or family trips to Israel are still eligible for a UJC grant towards a teen Israel experience.
UJC will match up to $250 of a grant that a student may receive from his/her synagogue or other organization, brining the possible totally UJC grant up to $1,000.
