Scott Krieger

"My hobbies are spending time with my family and UJC," says Scott Krieger, a volunteer leader with United Jewish Communities of MetroWest NJ.

Currently UJC's financial vice president, Scott is a former chair of the Young Leadership Division and past recipient of the Julius & Bessie Cohn Young Leadership Award.

He lives in Livingston with his wife, Robyn, and their three sons, twins Daniel and Eric, 11, and Josh, 10, all students at Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy.

Professionally, Scott is a certified public accountant and a partner with the firm of Friedman LLP, Accountants and Advisors (formerly Ehrenkrantz Sterling & Co.), Livingston, where his specialties include real estate entities, not-for-profit associations, and information technology companies. A graduate of Rider College, he previously worked at firms in New York and New Jersey and spent almost ten years as a sole practitioner.

Super Sunday was Scott's first contact with UJC. After answering the annual phonathon calls with donations, he responded to a mail request for volunteers, and one thing led to another. "The more involved I became, the more I wanted to be involved," he notes. "I find it very satisfying to be involved in a collective, communal effort, and the people I'm involved with are invaluable."

He's gone on missions to MetroWest's sister city of Cherkassy six or seven times and participated in a Young Men's Mission to Argentina this summer. "Whenever I go on a mission, whether it's a local mini-mission or overseas, I feel spiritually renewed," he observes.

Scott also serves on the professional advisory committee of the Jewish Community Foundation of MetroWest NJ and on the board of the Synagogue of the Suburban Torah Center, Livingston.

For relaxation, he enjoys music and a wide variety of sporting activities, including tennis, racquetball, and baseball. He also coaches Little League baseball and soccer.

UJC is an important and rewarding part of Scott's busy life. "One of my wishes," he comments, "is for everyone not already involved to become involved and have the same joy and fulfillment that I have."
